Our Opportunity

In this challenging new role you’ll join a diverse team of Engineers and Scientists at Innovative Technology, where we strive to design innovative products utilising the latest sensing technology for global customers.
Your role will focus on the research and development of both traditional and cutting-edge machine learning algorithms for use with current and future products, where you’ll also develop novel classification and training algorithms for automated transactions and offer mathematical support to key business areas.
This role would suit a recent PhD graduate with some industry or research experience or a BSc/MsC graduate with time in industry, who’s a natural problem solver and has a genuine desire to continue their career in a leading-edge Data Scientist opportunity.
 

Your role

  • You’ll investigate and analyse sensor, image, time and numerical information to identify insights and patterns in data
  • You’ll research cutting-edge machine learning algorithms for Innovative Technology’s currency validation technologies using established methodologies 
  • You’ll design, implement and validate new algorithms to ensure our product accuracy continues to be industry leading
  • You’ll provide expertise on mathematical and probabilistic concepts 
  • You’ll develop and implement various types of models that can make predictions in real-time
 

Your Qualifications

  • Degree in Mathematics, Numerical Computing, Computer Science or other highly numerate subject is required
  • Postgraduate degree or PhD in relevant subject is desirable
 

Your Skills & Experience

  • Experience developing and implementing Machine Learning techniques and algorithms including at least one of the following:
  • Ensemble modelling
  • Decision Tree Learning
  • Support Vector Machines 
  • And/or Artificial Neural Networks
  • Experience in at least one of the following would be advantageous:
  • PCA/ICA
  • Linear Regression
  • Logistic Regression
  • Mathematical Optimisation 
  • Programming in one or more of C, C++, Python, Matlab, or similar tools
  • Proven and comparable experience, ideally gained in an industrial environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to deliver presentations and technical reports
