Innovative Technology (ITL) have announced that their Trading Partner, Vape Supplier Ltd (VSL), will extend the provision of AI-powered age & identity verification technology to the vape sector. Already supplying to the convenience channel, VSL will now use their established vape customer base to bring accurate age verification to stores throughout the UK.
Commenting on the partnership, John Vallis, Senior Business Development Manager for ITL’s age and identity technology said, “I am delighted that VSL are now distributing MyCheckr direct to vape shops to ensure that together we tackle youth access. We have already seen some fantastic successes in the convenience sector where they currently supply our technology, so I am looking forward to seeing them advance into the vape market. The number of vape suppliers and retail outlets are on the rise and we must ensure they are equipped with the right technology to assist with their important age check process.”

John added, “MyCheckr is a standalone piece of hardware which is equipped with a camera and screen that quickly predicts a customer’s age completely anonymously. It gives staff an extra layer of security when checking age and asking for ID. Our technology is supported by a Trading Standards Primary Authority Partnership and is recognised as a way to help avoid test purchase failures and unwanted fines by assisting with Challenge 25. It requires no integration so customers can quickly get started achieving results immediately. We’ve also got the MyCheckr Mini version available for those shops that do not want a screen. You can even fully integrate our age verification technology with POS systems by using ICU Lite in self-service tills.”
