We have built, trained and tuned our own age estimation algorithms using our own training datasets.
Combining a multi-layer intelligence approach with a wide and diverse range of training data results in world leading age estimation. Â Our age estimation range has obtained independent certification (ACCS 1:2020 Technical Requirements for Age Estimation Technologies) that confirms that our products can be confidently deployed in a Challenge 25 scenario.
The independent test results show that our products, on average overestimates 18-year-olds by 0.39 years and has an MAE (Mean Absolute Error) of 0.94 years.
We use our own algorithms to continuously improve and combat any bias (i.e, gender/skin tone) to ensure our data is as diverse as possible in order to avoid overfitting issues during training.Â
Algorithm’s run quickly (less than 1 second) on our own bespoke hardware (edge technology), and does not rely on host machine specifications or performance.
Our age estimation is completely anonymous. You cannot uniquely identify an individual from the data or the result presented. For example, many people share the same age, so you cannot identify a specific person based solely on their age. Furthermore, no data is stored on the device—everything processed is deleted immediately afterward. This means in order to lawfully estimate a person’s age, you do not require specific consent from the person to do so.
We never store any personal data; the processing is done locally (on device), so data is never sent over a cloud-based network where it could be vulnerable to hackers. Additionally, any data processed is automatically deleted afterward. As a result, we received GDPR Certification from ACCS 2:2021 Technical Requirements for Data Protection and Privacy.
Customers are responsible for ensuring lawful and compliant use under all applicable laws within the country of operation.
We use passive liveness detection, which requires no interaction from the user. Using multiple parameters to analyse the full scene, a genuine subject can be determined. It is designed to identify a valid face and reject any invalid faces such as a photo, video, 3D models, or any substitute for a live person’s face.
